Sooo..... We moved house.
That was an interesting 3 weeks of life. Luckily I had 3 weeks of holiday from work which really softened the blow but there was so much to do it was never enough time.
We have moved from a rented 2 bed house to a mortgaged 3 bed house which is smaller than the 2 bed. The first thing we had to do was downsize.
Downsizing, now there's a tricky thing to do in a short amount of time, for the last 2 weeks at least Sarah and me have been up until 1 in the morning first of all chucking stuff out, cleaning things, piling things up to take to the charity shop etc and then after moving we have been up late unpacking boxes and building flat pack.
One of the least appeaing jobs was cleaning the old place. A thing the previous owners of our new house didn't seem to realise is that it is quite nice to come into a new home when it is clean.... So we have cleaned out the old place completely, top to bottom and shampooed the carpets. My specific tasks were to make sure that all of the post moving junk was thrown out and to Vax the carpets. This was an incredible emotional task, our 2 year old son has speant most of his life in that house and his mark was deeply ingrained on the house. Stickers, discarded craft items, stray socks and gloves, toys and bits and bobs all hidden behind radiatiors, under carpets and just everywhere. But, this nostalgia was short lived against the happiness of owning a house where we can still make memories.
Now, I am going to have a rest after this huge experience, safe in the knowledge that the bank now owns my ass for 25 years:)
